Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book my newborn photoshoot?
The best time to schedule your newborn photos is by your 20th week of pregnancy. During the booking process, you will tell me your due date. Once your baby arrives, you will contact us and we will schedule your session for 1-2 weeks after your child’s birthdate. It is important to get booked early because there are a limited amount of newborn photoshoots slots each month.
Which poses are included during the shoot?
I have a newborn workflow that I gravitate toward. If your package includes a family portion, we will do that first. Then we will do the baby only portion including wrapped and unwrapped poses using the bean bag and props. Keep in mind that you and your baby's comfort is top priority. Every baby will not tolerate every pose. For example some babies are more comfortable being wrapped/swaddled. Others stay up for the entire shoot and are not able to settle into certain poses. While I will do my best to give you a variety of poses, we will only do options that work best with your little one so that she/he can be as comfortable as possible during the session.
Do I need to provide clothing for my baby?
Nope! Your session fee includes your time in studio, outfits and props and the number of photos indicated in your package.
What should I wear for the family portion of my newborn photoshoot?
Families should wear neutral and solid clothing for their family portrait portion of the session. We also offer moms the option to choose from our wardrobe closet.
What is the schedule for baby pictures?
All Newborn portrait sessions are held on weekday mornings in Atlanta Creative Studio our Lilburn in home studio. Photoshoots can last up to3 hours as newborn babies require frequent breaks for feedings and cuddles. After your photoshoot we will schedule your in person ordering session where you will choose your digital and print packages. You will make selections based on what is provided in your package and you can order additional products if you wish. Your edited files will be ready within two weeks of your in person ordering session.
Have you received training specific to newborn photography?
ABSOLUTELY! I have undergone extensive training and mentoring in newborn photography techniques, infant safety and infant CPR.
What sanitation precautions have you implemented?
While I am usually a "hugger," I will avoid hugs and close physical contact with parents.
I will wash hands and use hand sanitizer throughout the session
I will wear a face mask during the shoot if requested.
The shoot is limited to just baby and the other family participating in the photoshoot. One support person is allowed to attend.
I will ask that you sanitize your hands upon entry.
